Order a Sample and Judge Us on Stitches, Not Promises
Every serious manufacturing relationship starts with a sample. It is how you evaluate our fabric sourcing, workmanship and communication at minimal cost, and it is the technical foundation the entire bulk order is built on.
- Sample lead time
- 1-2 weeks per round
- Sample types
- Proto, fit, pre-production
- Bulk after approval
- 4-6 weeks
- MOQ after sampling
- From 300 pcs per style
Quick answer
Sampling takes one to two weeks per round and moves through proto, fit and pre-production stages, with the approved PP sample becoming the binding quality reference for bulk. Samples are charged, costs are stated in the quotation up front, and charges can be credited against the bulk order that follows.
The Three Kinds of Sample, and What Each Is For
A proto sample is the first physical version of your design, made to prove the concept and construction, often in a substitute fabric of similar weight. It answers the question: does this design work as a real garment?
A fit sample is made to test and refine the fit on a body or fit form, locking the pattern before grading. A pre-production sample, or PP sample, is the final rehearsal: correct fabric, correct trims, correct colours and correct labels. The approved PP sample becomes the binding quality reference that bulk production is measured against.
- Proto sample: proves design and construction
- Fit sample: locks the pattern and fit
- Pre-production sample: final fabric, trims and labels, the bulk reference
How Sampling Costs Work
Samples are charged, and it is worth understanding why. A sample carries real pattern-making, fabric sourcing and skilled single-piece sewing time, which makes one sample far more expensive per unit than bulk production. Charging for samples is also what keeps sampling fast and prioritised at the factories.
Sampling costs are always stated in your quotation before you commit, so there are no surprises. In line with common industry practice, sampling charges can be credited against the bulk order that follows, and the exact arrangement is confirmed in your quote.
Timeline: One to Two Weeks Per Round
A sample round typically takes one to two weeks from confirmed details to a sample ready for dispatch, depending on fabric availability and complexity. Courier time to you adds a few days, and we ship samples worldwide with tracking.
How many rounds you need depends mostly on input quality. A clean tech pack often gets from proto to approved PP sample in two rounds; a project starting from a rough reference may need three. Each round is faster when your feedback is specific, ideally written comments plus photos referencing exact measurement points.
How to Give Sample Feedback That Saves Weeks
Vague feedback produces another vague sample. The comments that move a sample forward are specific and measurable: the chest measures 2 cm under spec, move the pocket 1.5 cm toward the side seam, change the neck binding to a 2 cm width, match the sleeve fabric shade to the swatch approved on this date.
Our team translates your comments into factory-ready technical instructions and confirms every change back to you in writing before the next round begins. Nothing is reinterpreted silently between your inbox and the sewing line.
From Approved Sample to Bulk Production
Sampling is not a detour before the real process; it is the start of it. The moment you approve the PP sample in writing, the pattern, fabric, trims and quality standard for bulk are all locked. Bulk production is scheduled on deposit and typically runs four to six weeks.
During bulk, the approved sample hangs at the sewing line and sits on the QC table. Inline checks and the AQL 2.5 based final inspection both measure production against it, which is exactly why we insist the sample is right before a single roll of bulk fabric is cut.
