Clothing Manufacturing Services in Turkey

Every way to produce clothing in Turkey: private label, custom cut & sew, low MOQ programs, sampling, printing, embroidery and quality control — with MOQs from 100 pieces and EU delivery in 3-7 days.

The short answer

Clothing manufacturing in Turkey is sold in four models: CMT, where you supply fabric; private label, where the factory buys everything and sews your brand; full package or FOB, where one supplier owns the whole chain; and ODM, where the design already exists. We run all four from Istanbul, from 100 pieces per style and colour.

Most sourcing pages describe a factory. This one describes a decision. Before anyone quotes you a price, you have to choose how much of the work you are buying, because that single choice moves the unit price more than any negotiation will.

We have managed apparel production from Istanbul since 1995, through a vetted network of partner factories rather than one building. That matters here: a jersey tee, a fully fashioned knit and a padded jacket are three different industries, and no single plant is good at all three.

Which production model should you buy?

There are four models in common use, and the difference between them is who buys the fabric and who owns the design. Everything else — price, lead time, risk — follows from that.

  • CMT (cut, make, trim): you send fabric and trims, the factory sews. Lowest sewing cost, highest risk, only sensible if you already have a mill relationship.
  • Private label: the factory buys fabric and trims to your spec and sews your brand into it. The default for most brands.
  • Full package / FOB: one supplier owns sourcing, production, quality control and export documents, and quotes a single delivered price per piece.
  • ODM: the design already exists in the supplier's collection and you adjust fabric, colour and labelling. Fastest route to market, least differentiated product.

What is the minimum order, really?

Our entry point is 100 pieces per style and per colour. That is a real number, not a headline: the limit is set by fabric, because mills dye in batches and a 100-piece colour run means buying from stock or accepting a surcharge.

Above that, price steps down at recognisable thresholds rather than smoothly. Between 100 and 499 pieces you are paying for someone's willingness to stop a line. From 500 the fabric starts to be bought for you rather than found for you. From 2,000 you are quoting against dedicated planning, and from 10,000 you are in the range where fabric is woven or knitted to order.

  • 100-499 pieces per style and colour: stock fabric, sample-room or small-line production, highest unit cost.
  • 500-1,999: fabric bought to order in standard colours, standard line allocation.
  • 2,000-9,999: dedicated planning, negotiated mill pricing, colour matched to your lab dip.
  • 10,000 and above: fabric knitted or woven to your specification, staged deliveries.

How long does production take?

Sampling runs first and is the part brands consistently underestimate. A first proto from a complete tech pack usually takes 10-14 days; expect two rounds before a sealed sample, more if the fit is unusual.

Bulk production after sample approval is typically 4-6 weeks for jersey and fleece, longer for knitwear with yarn-dyed programmes, outerwear with technical trims, or any style that needs a wash. Add fabric lead time on top when the colour is being dyed for you.

What decides the price of a garment?

Fabric is usually 40-60 percent of the cost of a simple garment, which is why the fabric conversation happens before the sewing conversation. After that come trims and labels, cutting and sewing minutes, decoration, quality control, packing and freight.

The two levers a brand actually controls are the number of colours and the number of styles. Splitting 1,000 pieces across six colours and four styles buys you the price of a 40-piece order, not a 1,000-piece one.

What has to be in a tech pack before we can quote?

You can start a conversation with a photo and a target price. You cannot get a quote you can rely on without a specification, because everything above depends on it.

  • Flat sketches, front and back, with construction notes.
  • A size chart with points of measure, or one reference garment we can measure.
  • Fabric: composition, weight in GSM, finish, and any certificate you need to keep.
  • Trims: labels, tapes, zips, buttons, and who is allowed to supply them.
  • Artwork at print size, with the placement and the technique you expect.
  • Quantity per style and per colour, target price, and the date the goods have to land.
