The timeline, stage by stage

Quotation and technical review take 2-5 working days from receiving your tech pack. Sampling runs 1-2 weeks per round plus 2-4 days of courier time; most projects need one round, fitted garments often two. Once you approve the pre-production sample and confirm quantities, fabric is ordered: stocked qualities are available almost immediately, while custom-dyed fabric adds 2-4 weeks of mill time before cutting can start.

Bulk production itself runs 4-6 weeks after approval: cutting, sewing, decoration, finishing, pressing and packing, with inline quality checks throughout and an AQL final inspection before cartons seal. Shipping then adds 3-7 days by road to most of the EU, roughly 2-5 days by air worldwide, or several weeks by sea for large volumes to the US and beyond.

A realistic first-order schedule

For a knit program on stocked fabric with one sampling round, plan roughly: week 1 quotation, weeks 2-3 sampling and approval, weeks 4-9 bulk production, week 10 delivery in the EU. Custom fabric or a second fit round pushes the same project to 12-14 weeks. These are planning figures our network genuinely hits, not best-case marketing.

Reorders run meaningfully faster. With patterns proven and fabric qualities known, a repeat order skips most of the front end and typically lands in 5-7 weeks door to door on stocked fabric. This is the operational payoff of Turkey for European brands: replenishment inside a single season.

What stretches lead times

The most common delays start on the buyer side: incomplete tech packs that trigger extra sampling rounds, slow sample feedback that parks the project between rounds, and late label or packaging artwork that holds finished garments hostage. Every idle week before approval is a week added to delivery, because factories schedule capacity from the approval date, not the enquiry date.

On the supply side, custom fabric dyeing is the biggest variable at 2-4 weeks of mill time, followed by specialty processes such as denim washing, garment dyeing and heavy embroidery, each adding days. Seasonality matters too: capacity tightens ahead of spring and autumn deliveries and around Turkish public holidays, so booking production slots early buys real calendar time.

How to compress the schedule

Prepare a complete tech pack, or let us build one from your reference garment before sampling starts. Approve samples within days, not weeks, and deliver label, hangtag and packaging artwork during production rather than after it. Choose stocked fabrics for the first run and move to custom development once the style is proven. Each of these decisions is worth one to three weeks.

When a launch date is fixed, tell us and we plan backwards from it, flagging honestly whether it is achievable. Air freight can rescue a tight deadline at a cost premium, but the cheapest acceleration is always an early decision. We would rather tell you a date is impossible in week one than miss it in week ten.

We manage production through a vetted network of Turkish manufacturers from our Istanbul base, which means your order has someone physically close to the factories whose job is the schedule. You get a production plan at order confirmation with dated milestones: fabric in-house, cutting start, sewing completion, inspection and handover to freight.

You receive progress updates against those milestones, with photos and videos at key stages, so a slipping date surfaces early enough to fix, whether by re-sequencing production, adding line capacity or adjusting the freight mode. Silence until the delivery week is how sourcing horror stories start; scheduled visibility is how they are prevented.
