Clothing Manufacturing Cost in Turkey
Every garment price is the sum of six cost blocks: fabric, CMT, trims, decoration, packaging and logistics. Understand the blocks and you can read any quote, challenge any number and design to a target price instead of hoping for one.

Quick answer
Clothing manufacturing costs in Turkey break into fabric, CMT labour, trims, decoration, packaging and logistics, with fabric usually 40-60% of the total. Indicative bulk unit prices across Apparel Manufacturer Turkey's network run 3.50-6.50 USD for a basic 180 GSM tee and 12-22 USD for a fleece hoodie, with final pricing set by the tech pack.
The six blocks inside every unit price
Fabric is almost always the largest block, typically 40-60% of a knit garment's ex-factory cost, driven by fibre, GSM weight and finish. CMT, meaning cut, make and trim labour, is the second block and scales with construction complexity: seam count, stitch types, panel count and handling difficulty. Trims cover zips, buttons, drawcords, labels and threads; small individually, meaningful in total, and a common place where cheap quotes hide downgrades.
Decoration covers printing, embroidery and washes, each with setup costs that amortise over quantity. Packaging spans polybags, hangtags, cartons and any retail-ready extras. Logistics adds freight, insurance and handling from factory door to yours. A transparent quote should let you see these blocks; a single opaque number should make you ask questions.
Indicative unit price ranges from Turkey
The ranges in the table below reflect what we see across our vetted network for reasonable bulk quantities in 2025-era conditions. They are indicative, not offers: your fabric choice, GSM, decoration and order size move every number, and final pricing always depends on the tech pack. We publish ranges because publishing false precision would be marketing, not information.
Read the ranges with quantity in mind. The low end generally assumes 1,000-plus pieces, simple decoration and standard fabrics; the high end reflects minimum quantities, heavier fabrics or complex builds. A 300-piece first order should be budgeted toward the upper half of any range.
What moves your price up or down
Three drivers dominate. Fabric weight and composition: moving a tee from 160 to 240 GSM, or from open-end to combed ring-spun or organic cotton, can shift fabric cost substantially. Order quantity: fixed setup costs spread over more units, which is why the 300-to-1,000 piece jump usually buys a visible unit price drop. Decoration complexity: a one-colour chest print is cheap per piece; multi-placement prints, all-over patterns, appliques and heavy embroidery each add both setup and per-piece cost.
Secondary drivers still matter: custom-dyed colours versus stocked shades, specialty washes and enzyme treatments on denim and fleece, branded trims versus stock trims, and retail-ready packaging versus plain polybags. When a target price is tight, we go through these levers with you line by line; there is nearly always a way to protect the look while trimming the cost.
- Fabric weight, fibre and finish: the biggest single lever
- Order quantity: setup costs amortise with every additional unit
- Print and embroidery complexity: placements multiply cost
- Washes, custom colours, branded trims and packaging add per-piece cost
Turkey versus other sourcing countries
Turkish unit prices typically sit above Bangladesh or Pakistan and below Portugal or Italy for comparable garments. What the raw unit price misses is landed cost and speed: road freight to the EU in 3-7 days versus weeks at sea, duty advantages into the EU under the customs union for qualifying goods, smaller workable MOQs, and sampling loops measured in days of courier time rather than weeks.
For brands selling in Europe and the UK, the total cost of a Turkish program, including freight, duty exposure, inventory carrying cost and markdown risk from slow replenishment, is frequently lower than a cheaper-per-unit Asian quote. We are happy to help you run that comparison honestly with your own numbers rather than assert it.
How to get a real cost for your product
Send a tech pack, or a reference garment with notes, plus target quantity and destination market to info@apparelmanufacturerturkey.com. We return a quotation with unit price, sampling cost, MOQ and lead time, typically within 24-48 hours for standard categories. The quote reflects your actual fabric and construction, which is the only cost that matters.
If your target price and your spec do not meet, we say so and show which lever closes the gap: a different fabric quality, one fewer print placement, a higher quantity or a simplified trim set. Costing is engineering, and it works best done before sampling rather than after disappointment.
