Why brands produce oversized tees in Turkey

The oversized tee lives or dies on two things: fabric weight and pattern. Turkish mills produce the heavyweight open-end and combed jerseys the silhouette demands, and local pattern rooms understand drop-shoulder geometry, extended body lengths and widened necklines. Because everything from knitting to sewing to washing happens within one region, development moves fast and mistakes get corrected in days, not shipping cycles.

Heavyweight jerseys and washed finishes

The signature oversized hand feel starts at 220 GSM and runs to 280 GSM in combed or open-end cotton single jersey. Open-end yarns give the dry, matte, vintage surface many streetwear brands want, while combed ring-spun jersey delivers a smoother face for premium basics. Carbon-brushed and peached finishes add softness without losing structure.

Garment dyeing is a popular route for oversized programs: garments are sewn in greige fabric and dyed afterwards, producing rich pigment shades, intentional crinkle at the seams and a lived-in character. Enzyme, silicone and acid-wash effects are available through partner wash houses, and OEKO-TEX certified fabric bases can be used throughout.

Patterns built for the boxy silhouette

An oversized tee is not simply a larger regular tee. Our pattern team drafts drop-shoulder blocks with widened chest-to-length ratios, shortened or extended bodies, lowered armholes and wider sleeve openings depending on your direction. Necklines typically use a deeper 1x1 or 2x2 rib collar, often with contrast or self-fabric back neck taping.

Construction is side-seamed with twin-needle coverstitch hems. Popular details include raw-edge hems, side slits, dropped back hems and tonal or contrast flatlock seams. We grade full size runs and can develop separate men's and unisex blocks where your market requires it.

Decoration: puff, high-density and heavy embroidery

Oversized streetwear leans on tactile decoration. Partner print houses run puff print, high-density screen printing, cracked and vintage-effect inks, water-based prints for a soft hand and oversized back prints up to the limits of the platen. DTF handles short-run multi-design capsules without screen costs.

Chest and back embroidery, 3D puff embroidery and applique patches all run in-network. Branding packages include woven neck labels, printed neck logos, care labels, hem tags, hangtags and custom packaging so garments arrive retail-ready.

Order size, development and delivery

MOQ is 300 pieces per style with 100 pieces per colourway inside knit programs, which suits capsule drops of a few colours per design. Sampling takes 1-2 weeks including print or wash trials; bulk production runs 4-6 weeks after your approval, with garment-dyed programs at the upper end of that window.
