Why zip hoodies need a more capable factory

A zip hoodie adds an unforgiving element to fleece production: the front zip. Wavy plackets, misaligned pocket openings and puckered zip tape are the most common defects in the category, so we place these programs only with network partners whose lines routinely handle zip insertion on heavy fleece, and we check zip runs piece by piece at final inspection.

Fabric platform shared with our hoodie programs

Zip hoodies run on the same proven fleece platform as our pullover programs: three-thread brushed fleece at 320-360 GSM for core retail, 400-450 GSM for heavyweight premium builds, and French terry at 300-400 GSM for lighter layering pieces. Compositions cover 100% cotton and 80/20 cotton-polyester.

OEKO-TEX certified qualities are available throughout, organic cotton fleece can be sourced via GOTS-certified partner mills, and garment dyeing produces washed, faded colourways, although we pre-test zip tape and trims for dye compatibility before committing a garment-dyed zip style to bulk.

Zips, hoods and hardware done properly

We fit YKK zippers as standard: metal teeth for premium streetwear, coil or Vislon for sport-led programs, with autolock sliders and options for custom rubber or metal zip pullers carrying your logo. Half-zip styles use a shorter front zip with a stand collar, popular for athleisure programs.

Hoods are double-layered or jersey-lined with metal eyelets and flat or round drawcords, and can be built with or without a zip garage at the chin to stop zip rub. Kangaroo pockets are split for full-zip fronts with bartacked openings, and cuffs and hems finish in elastane-blended 2x2 rib.

Decoration and private label finishing

Split front panels change how artwork is placed, so we advise on chest hits, sleeve prints and full back graphics that work around the zip line. Screen printing, puff and high-density inks, DTF transfers, flat and 3D embroidery and applique patches are all produced in-network against approved strike-offs.

Every order can carry your full identity package: woven neck labels, printed inner branding, care labels compliant with your destination market, hem tags, hangtags and custom polybags, packed to carton specifications your warehouse defines.

Ordering, sampling and delivery schedule

MOQ is 300 pieces per style with colourways from 100 pieces inside knit programs. Sampling runs 1-2 weeks and always includes a full zip construction check, not just fit. Bulk production takes 4-6 weeks after approval, and finished goods reach the EU by road in 3-7 days with air and sea service worldwide.
