Coat categories and fabric options

We produce single- and double-breasted overcoats, car coats, trench coats, macs, duffle coats and longline quilted coats for men and women. Tailored wool styles and technical rainwear styles are placed with different partner factories, because canvassed fronts and bonded waterproof seams call for entirely different equipment and skills.

Wool-blend coatings typically run 400-600 GSM in melton, boucle and herringbone constructions, with cashmere-touch blends available for premium lines. Trench and mac programs use bonded cotton, poly-cotton gabardine around 220-280 GSM with water-repellent finishes, or rubberised-look coated fabrics. Linings range from acetate twill to satin-finish polyester, with detachable quilted liners for three-season coats.

Tailoring details that separate good coats from cheap ones

A coat reads as premium or cheap within seconds of handling, and the difference lives in the internals: fused versus canvassed fronts, sleeve heads that support the shoulder line, back vents that hang straight, and collars that roll rather than fold. Our partner factories work with proper fusing lines and pressing equipment, and we specify these internals in the tech pack review before quoting.

Details we routinely execute include horn-effect and corozo-style buttons, storm flaps and gun patches on trenches, belted waists with keeper loops, welt and flap pockets with bartacked corners, and locker loops with woven brand labels. Buttonholes can be sewn or bound depending on the price point you are building for.

Timeline for a coat program

Coats sample in 2-3 weeks because pattern engineering, fusing trials and pressing take longer than for cut-and-sew jersey. We recommend booking winter programs early: sampling in late spring, approval by early summer, bulk over 6-8 weeks, and road delivery to the EU in 3-7 days puts stock in your warehouse comfortably before the season.

Minimums start at 300 pieces per style. For wool coats we also confirm fabric minimums with the mill during quotation, since coating fabrics often have their own MOQ per colour; we flag this transparently rather than letting it surprise you mid-project.

Quality control and finishing

Inline QC covers fusing adhesion, seam alignment across checks and stripes, and lining tension so hems hang clean. Final AQL inspection checks measurements, button security, pattern matching at centre back and pocket alignment, with a photo report before dispatch.

Coats are finished on industrial pressing equipment and shipped hanging or boxed with tissue depending on your retail requirements. Swing tags, size stickers and polybag specifications are executed to your pack file.
